This is a life-size reproduction of a tooth of the largest known carnosaur. The largest specimen stood 18.5 feet tall, was 50 feet long, and weighed about 6 tons. Most specimens have been found in the western United States & adjoining Canada. They lived around 65 to 70 million years ago during the late cretaceous period. This dinosaur had extremely powerful back legs that allowed it to hunt prey at speeds up to 20mph over short distances. The name of this dinosaur, Tyrannosaurus Rex actually means 'Tyrant Lizard'.
