The Acrocanthosaurus has 17 in spikes from its neck to its tail, which is where it got its name. Acrocanthosaurus means "high spine lizard." The Acrocanthosaurus was discovered in Oklahoma during the 1940s, but that was largely ignored and forgotten until 1050.
The Acrocanthosaurus was around 40 ft. long, and weighed up to 6 tons. Its head alone ws around 4.4 feet long! The Acrocathosaurus was a fierce predator, and even hunted larger sauropod species, which was uncommon for a therapod.
