Carnegie Dinosaur Toy Model Amargasaurus New 2007
In 1898 Andrew Carnegie, a major philanthropist and successful businessman read an article about colossal creatures being unearthed in the American West. With the financial backing of Mr. Carnegie, the Carnegie Museum dispatched a team of scientists to Wyoming with a single mission to bring back a dinosaur for Pittsburgh. Thus was the beginning of what would become the largest dinosaur collection in the world. The Amargasaurus is a herbivorous (plant-eating) dinosaur who lived in Southern South America about 125 million years ago. Unique amongst dinosaurs, the neck and back of Amargasaurus sported a double row of very tall spines.
The hand-painted Amargasaurus measures 8.5" L x 3" H (21.5 x 7.6 cm). Includes a 5-language educational hang tag.
